Dog adopts Cubs

Isabella, a golden retriever in a Kansas zoo adopted 3 baby white tigers after their mother abandoned them soon after birth.

A day after giving birth the mother stopped taking care of them and the cubs were seen wandering around trying to find her. That is when Isabella was brought in.

Even though it is unusual for something like this to happen, there are instances in the past where this has occurred. We've all heard of dogs nursing baby kittens and also of other animals helping each other when in need.

If only all humans could get along as well as these animals!

Google: Web is a trillion pages long

A recent blog post made by Google said that to the company, the web is about a trillion pages long. It also states that it is growing at a a rate of almost several billion pages everyday.

However, it is a safe bet to say that the web is in fact a lot longer than just a trillion pages. The reason for this is simple. Google does not index every one of those trillion pages on the web and there are bound to be many more that do not fall under Google's radar. A lot of pages have duplicate URLs and contain multiple pages of the same content. It is these types of pages that are not indexed.

To really understand how fast the internet has grown, check this out? In the year 1998, there were approximately 26 million pages and by the year 2000, the number had risen to 1 billion. Currently it is at over 1 trillion.

Dwarf as Luggage

A person tried to check in a midget as luggage at the Bromma airport in Stockholm, Sweden, as a practical joke. However, the airport staff did not appreciate, what they thought was in poor taste, and immediately called the police.

It turned out that the entire prank was done for a comedy program that was to be broadcast on Swedish television.

The program, which is a Swedish version of "Just for Laughs" (Canada), has been reported of doing similar things in the past such as spraying water into the face of the Swedish PM in a spoof interview.

The program is supposed to be provocative and entertaining, but unfortunately for the reporter, he was fine $3361 by the district court.

Poll Time!

Hey guys I don't know if you noticed but there is a Poll to your right.

As we come closer to the American Presidential election, i though about taking a poll about Barrack Obama and if you think that the USA is ready to have its first black president.

I'm sort of assuming that he IS going to win, no matter what.

It's Official: Mick Jagger is a senior

Awwwww....poor "old" Mick Jagger.
Now he is officially a senior, as he turned 65 today. (Saturday, July 26)
As a senior in the U.K., he is eligible to receive a pension of about USD$176 per month (CAD$180) . I guess he really needs that money considering he is so terrible poor.

Anyways, don't expect anything to stop Mr. Jagger though, Universal music group announced that it has signed an exclusive contract deal with the Rolling Stones and so we're sure to see him rocking all the way through his 70s.

Short Vacations do little good: Study

According to a study that has been recently published by an European Mobile home company, "KeyCamp", short vacations have very little benefit towards a person's health. People on vacations do not begin to relax until their third day off. So, forget about those "daycations" and weekend getaways. What you really need is a week or so off work. They also found out that the first day is usually very exhausting due to all the flight booking, preparing and, traveling.

Research has also shown that people who take more frequent vacations tend to live longer.
Longer vacations can also be a good thing for employers because employees usually come back fresh and refreshed and thus will take fewer sick days off.

In short what I would advise people to take full advantage of their vacation. Also, instead of taking a lot of days off at any one particular time, try and spreading out those days, so that they are more frequent.

Vacation Days A Year (Employed adults, on average)
Canada: 17
United States: 14
Spain: 31
Italy: 33

P.S- no wonder people in Italy and Spain live so long, they aren't as stressed as us North Americans.

Dumped Fiancee wins $150K

This story begins with a woman who gave up her dream job to move to Georgia, Atlanta, to marry who she thought would be the man of her dreams. Unfortunately for her, the groom called off the wedding 2 days before it was supposed to take place. She ended up taking him to court for a breach of contract and was granted $150000 by the judge.

Even though I really feel sorry for the woman, who gave up everything including her job and previous residence, to marry a jerk; I really don't think that these sorts of issues should belong in the court room.

I mean, what's next! Soon we'll have hundreds of brides and grooms lining up in front of the courts trying to get some money off of each other for the breach of contract. This is NOT the corporate world, where people sue each other for no reason at all. This is a union between two people and must be treated in a different manner. Although I do believe that the affected person should be given compensation, it should be mutually decided between the two parties.

We really shouldn't try to make social unions into matter of legal litigation.

Carnival Ride win!

A Minnesota teacher named Jim Salava, 40, was became the recipient of $1000, a family cruise, and a lifetime pass to a theme park after lasting 20 hours on a carnival ride.

The competition began with 10 riders on the Avatar Airbender, which averages 43mph and reaches a top hight of about 70ft.

Except for bathroom and meal breaks, the contestants remained on the ride all the time even during sleep.

Personally speaking, I am not a very big fan of carnival rides, but whatever the case, Mr. Salava is a truly daring man. I probably wouldn't last any more than a few times.

Good going Jim :D

Chimpanzees take over Facebook!

As most of you already know, the popular social networking site, Facebook, has almost 40-million human users on it. For the first time, though, it will be the home to four chimpanzees, who will be adding a 'wild' touch to the site.

20 year old Albert along with his mates Jones, Sheena and Britney have all signed up to the popular website.

Scientists at the University of Oregon have been teaching the chimps to acquire language skills so that they can communicate with over 1000 symbols using a chimp-proof adapted touch screen computer. They will also be able to chat online with their other "ape" friends, upload pictures and send messages.

Previous studies have shown that chimpanzees and humans use the same region of their brain to communicate both verbally and non-verbally.

Even though this is a rather unique venture taken upon by the university, I don't we all want facebook to be filled with people's pet dogs and cats. Or do we???

Egg Whopper!!

An egg weighing a whopping 162 grams was laid by a Lohman-breed hen in the northern cit of Chandigarh in India. Apparently, the 10 month old hen has been laying eggs for quite a while now, but never has she laid an egg quite so big. Experts say that it is very unusual for a hen to lay an egg that is so much larger than its usual size and that it is not fit for consumption.

An average egg weighs about 60g

Meanwhile may villagers and farmers have been flocking to Surinder Kumar Joshi poultry farm to get a glimpse of exactly how big the egg is.

Fake Wife Divorce

Sanjib Saha, an Indian man living in the Eastern city of Kolkata, used an impersonator (playing his real wife) to get a divorce. Both Sanjib and the fake wife said that the divorce was mutually decided and the court agreed immediately.

Unfortunately for him, he is now facing legal charges after his real wife found out what happened and appealed to the Supreme court, suspending the divorce and accusing him of cheating.

Personally, I never thought that these sort of things were even possible in any part of the world in the 21st century. As far as I know, in most places you have lawyers involved and there is a lot of paper work and identification required. It's just amusing to me that an impersonator can take the role of the wife, without the judge or attorney or whoever was in the court recognizing who she really was.

Carp Pedicure

Have you ever wondered how fish nibbling at your feet would feel?

Apparently, fish pedicures are becoming all the rage in the D.C. area. The treatment uses carp, that nibble at the scaly skin around your feet and toe areas. John Ho and Yvonne Le, who own Yvonne Hair and Nails Spa in northern Virgina, said that already about 5000 people have used this alternative method of having a pedicure.

Definitely, this is a rather unique way of doing a rather regular procedure, and is sure to attract more customers with all the hype that it has already garnered. The usual razors that are normally used for pedicures have lost their reputation due to state regulators being weary about their cleanliness.

Personally, I think that this is an absolutely ingenious and clever idea. I would most definitely try it out if it were available in my local area.

Pic of the Day!

Animal Facts!

We all like animals don't we.

So here are some really interesting facts about some animals that you may not have known about.

  1. Elephants are the only animals that can't jump
  2. A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out
  3. On average, people fear spiders more than they do death
  4. You are more likely to be killed by a Champagne cork than by a poisonous spider
  5. A snail can sleep for three years
  6. Butterflies taste with their feet
  7. The ant always falls over on its right side when intoxicated.
  8. Cats have over one hundred vocal sounds, but dogs only have about ten.
  9. An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain
  10. All polar bears are left handed.

National Anthem Booing!!!

As a resident of Toronto and a citizen of the beautiful country of Canada, I for once felt really ashamed about what I heard on the news today.

Well basically, as the people who live here may know, David Beckham and the L.A. Galaxy soccer team came to Toronto to play their league match against the local team here. Much like in many other sports such as football and baseball, the national anthem of each of the 2 countries are played at the beginning of the match.

To my absolute horror, the crowd started booing when the American National anthem (Star spangled banner) was being played. Now, I don't care how much you hate the America, it is just utterly disrespectful and ill-mannered to boo at anyone's national anthem. Who knows how many Americans were there in the crowds, who may have been offended.

I just find it totally ridiculous that people can actually go so low to do something like this.

Canada is supposed to be known for its tolerance towards people of various different ethnic backgrounds and cultures. We have also been very accepting of people in general, and to tell you the truth there really isn't much racial discrimination that exists here.
But after this, one really begins to rethink whether or not we really are as tolerant and open-minded as we think we are.

What are your views???
Plz comment.

Anyone wanna hire a CRACKHEAD???????

What better way of trying to get employment than telling everyone that you smoke doobies!!

Have a read for yourself!

It's Prank Time!!!

OK, so get this.

A woman in Montreal, Canada has been arrested by police for crank calling the the emergency 9-1-1 line for about 10,000 times.

Apparently, she was angry at the police and kept making death threats over the phone to the call operators. She was mad because a police officer had warned her against littering and spitting on the street.

Well, to begin with, I think that she needs psychiatric help because for someone to prank call 10000 times is just absurd. And its also not her first time doing it so....who knows how many other times she's done it.

Anyways, I just think that if I'm calling 911 for an emergency, I really don't want some idiot like her blocking the phone lines with her prank calls.

Again, this goes to show that crazy people still exist in our world.

Rabbit Power

So, I was watching the news today, when I saw this story about a very heroic rabbit. I must say that I am really not the biggest fan when it comes to animals, even domestic animals, but really, who doesn't like a cute, cuddly little bunny rabbit.

The story is basically that the rabbit, who has been appropriately named "Rabbit" by his owners, saved them from a burning fire in their home in Melbourne, Australia.

The rabbit apparently woke it's owners, by scratching on their bedroom door, while they slept, so that they would wake up. And when they did, they realized that part of their house was on fire.

Fortunately for the family and the rabbit, they were all able to escape safely and soundly.

Personally, when I see stories like this, it really reinstates my faith in Animal-kind.

WOOOO!!!! First Entry

Hello Everyone !!!

So as you can obviously see this is my very first blog post EVER. And I must say that it is a rather cool experience. To tell you all the truth, I really think that I've been living under a rock cuz, I really didn't know much about blogging until a friend told me about it. OK, now before you guys start to get all crazy about me not knowing about blogging, let me tell you something. I'm really not much of a tech savvy guy, to begin with, and for me to be doing this right now is a major accomplishment.

I really won't go into details about myself right now, but you can always check the profile thingy area for more details. And off course don't feel shy at any point to ask me any of your burning questions, although I doubt u guys will really have any for me.

Anyways, now I'm going to tell a little bit about what I'll be blogging about.

So, I was thinking (to myself!!), don't you guys find that the world (or at least where I live) has just gotten sooooo crazy?? Well, I think so. Therefore, I though that wouldn't it be fun to make a blog, completely dedicated to the craziness that goes around all of us, all the time, that we somehow tend to ignore and walk right by.

So this is my plan.

I hope to blog about whatever I see or hear happening around me, that I find to be either crazy or just utterly hilarious. I'll be providing my viewpoints on the events, and you guys are welcome to post yours. Though we may not agree on all points, it does make gr8 discussion.

And also, if any of YOU have anything interesting to share, then please do so.

Anyway, that's all for now.

TATA!!!!!
